About the Event
Ayurveda is 5000 year old holistic medical system indigenous to ancient India. It is also a way of life, unconfined by culture, ever relevant today. It helps us develop a subtler awareness of ourselves and our environments, encouraging us to make life-enhancing choices according to our individual needs.
This workshop offers the opportunity to change your current perspective on diet nutrition and lifestyle by delving deep into yourself using the age old experientially proven principles of Ayurveda. It is suitable for all levels whether you are completely new to Ayurveda or are looking to expand on existing knowledge.
We will cover the basic principles of Ayurveda including the Ayurvedic body types (Doshas, Prakruti and Vikruti), the concepts of Agni (the Digestive Fire) and Ama (Toxins), the six tastes and how our diet and lifestyle habits can result in physical and emotional imbalances in the body. We will explore self care practices to nurture ourselves and maintain balance in mind body and spirit. You will be individually assessed to determine your Ayurvedic profile and will benefit from individualised diet and lifestyle recommendations.
This workshop is being held at Fairways Community Centre in the peaceful area of Benton and is being facilitated by Akanksha Kalra of PURNAM AYURVEDA. Akanksha is a fully qualified Ayurvedic Lifestyle & Nutrition Consultant and Therapist offering consultations and treatments in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
